On a day's cycling trip from Bundoran, you can be cycling along beautiful cliff top coastal roads around Mullaghmore, an hour later be cruising around the famous Ben Whiskin horseshoe in the Dartry Hills and another hour later be circling Lough Gill in Sligo through leafy forests. The variety of landscapes in the area provides the cyclist with the possibility of not only touring on different routes every day but cycling through different terrains on the same day.
For the person based in Bundoran, we can direct you to some nice half day cycling tours in the surrounding country side. If you are a bit more serious, a fantastic tour sets out from Bundoran, continues on the Kinlough to Manorhamilton road through Glenade Valley with views of Aroo Hill to the left and Eagle's Rock to the right. At Manorhamilton, go west along the north shore of Glencar Lough where you can stop off for a picnic on the lake shore or at the bottom of beautiful Glencar Waterfall. Continue west along the foot of King's Mountain and Ben Bulben and take the back roads along the foot of the Dartry Hills until you reach the village of Tullaghan in Co. Leitrim which is only a short spin back to base in Bundoran.
The Kingfisher Trail is a well know route that goes through Leitrim and Fermanagh. It loops around lakes and islands, winds by rivers and streams, and passes through woods and forest and country parks. You'll cycle to scenic viewpoints as well as down rustic village streets.
There's plenty for the mountain biker as well, with lots of trails scattered through Union Wood in Co. Sligo as well Castle Archdale and Big Dog Forest in Co. Fermanagh just 30 minutes from Bundoran. Phone us at any time and we can advise you on all these trips.
